Where Did The Jewels Go?

  • Mar. 11th, 2009 at 3:53 PM

A quick update while little Ari is once again asleep! I haven't quite finished the Pierrot painting yet - but it's getting very close. I've been doing little bits on it each night. While I'm painting I'm also coming up with more and more ideas for other paintings...=)

You may notice that my eBay store is EMPTY at the moment. All of my jewellery listings are temporarily on pause while I'm focusing on my painting for about a month - after this they will all magically REAPPEAR! (Along with some new art!)

Hopefully I might start on a new piece tonight. We're also getting ready for Dad's 50th on the weekend! Lots to organise...

Ciao for now.

Pierrot Update

  • Mar. 9th, 2009 at 4:25 PM

Hello!
Well it's raining outside today - which is beautiful. It's also obviously had an effect on Ari because after a long morning of constant whinging (probably because of her teeth coming through) she has slept for the past couple of hours! Which has meant that I've been able to update a couple of things and do a little bit of work on the Pierrot painting. It's still not finished, but here's an update:

Tarn's Bridal shower on the weekend went down well and she got lots of lovely pressies! I think everyone liked the Rocky Road I made too. Anyway, I might try and get some more painting done before Ari wakes up!

Pierrot Commission

  • Mar. 2nd, 2009 at 10:54 AM

Morning!

I had a nice relaxing, although productive, weekend. Yesterday I painted while watching trashy tv which was awesome. Probably the tackiest show we watched was "Paris Hilton's British Best Friend" - which is so so lame but quite addictive!

Here's a couple of work-in-progress pics of a commission I'm doing at the moment:

As you can see, still plenty to go, but it's coming along ok.

This morning I've got a ton of jewellery orders to get off and then I'll get some time to paint  again this afternoon hopefully...

Ciao!

So it's Saturday today. It's also the last day of Summer. Part of me thought that we should hang out at the beach today, but we were feeling a little too relaxed, so we hung around at home for the morning, and then went down to print some photos & do some grocery shopping this afternoon. Ariella was such a good girl the whole time! Tonight I'm spending a couple of hours getting jewellery orders ready because (as always) I'm trying to get some more actual painting time next week.

I've got a couple of new jewels in
my eBay store - with new ones added every few days. A couple of my faves are shown below. You can click on the pics to go to the listings. The gold bow has proven to be a favourite already - I've had the silver bow in my store for a while now, so I thought I'd get some gold ones together too - and they seem to be popular. They are very cute...

I have a bit of a headache tonight. I might go take some paracetamol... =S

Friday the 13th

  • Feb. 13th, 2009 at 10:25 PM

It's Friday the 13th - Lucky or Unlucky?

Well tonight I've added a couple more new jewels to my eBay store - you can go to the listings just by clicking on the photos below:

My Grandad would've been 81 today...

We just finished watching "Slum Dog Millionaire" - it was pretty good! I can see why it has been nominated for awards. It's an interesting movie. I can't wait to see the new Penelope Cruz movie....Cristina Something Barcelona...? I'm not a Penelope Cruz fan but I've heard rave reviews and it sounds like it would be right up my alley!

It's Valentine's Day tomorrow! Yay! I hope everyone has a fantastic day filled with love no matter where you are and who you're with.

Here's a peek at some of my new stuff on eBay: (You can click on the photos to go straight to the listing)

Oh yes - i LOVE pink if you haven't noticed.

It's been SO hot here today. Luckily, I've had the pleasure of relaxing in the air conditioning and starting a new painting...i'll post pics as soon as it's had a bit more work done. it's 25cm x 30cm x 1.5cm...so rather small but with some intricate details in it.

I might be going to DFO tomorrow...I'll wait & see how it pans out...

Night!

my heart goes out to the people of Victoria today and their families....we've had the worst fires ever here in Australia and there have been over 100 people killed so far, with over 700 homes destroyed. it's incredibly tragic, and scary that it all happened so fast. it seems surreal that i'm sitting there on the couch watching the news with dad, who is wrapped up in bandages because of his burns, and they are talking about the number of burns casualties down there also. i can't imagine how horrific it must be.

this morning i dropped into the little homewares shop near the drs while dad was getting his burns re-dressed and found tarn a perfect bridal shower gift. i won't mention what it is yet, but I'm sure she'll like it.

other than that, i was SO tired today that I fell asleep on the floor next to Ari and slept for 2 hours! the joys of being a mum. =)

i also spoke to wade and he's in melbourne at the moment, safe and sound. he said they saw a lot of haze as they flew into the city this morning, but it's not too bad.

i have some new jewels in
my eBay Store...i'll post piccies on here when I get a moment. Until then you can check them out HERE

so now i've got some much needed work to catch up on....

until next time...

wade left for melb this arvo and i miss him already =(

today emily & evaan came over for a visit and we all had lunch at the Ettamogah Pub. it was really yummy! I hadn't eaten there before, and i was quite impressed! although last night i ate 5 peices of pizza & then passionfruit cheesecake, and i vowed never to eat junk food again - a mere 12 hours later - here i was eating a massive beef, bacon & cheeseburger with a side of beer battered fries at the Ettamogah Pub. it was worth it though. it was nice to see em & evaan too - hadn't seen them in ages! they bought ari some great little blocks and some lovely books as a gift - and a bottle of wine for wade & i to share, which was very nice. em also made the cutest little card for ari. she is very clever.

so wade's gone to melbourne until wednesday night now =(

oh - i must write about what happened on wednesday. i was sitting here at mum & dad's computer when i heard a massive 'bang!' and i actually felt the house shake a little - it was like a gas bottle had exploded. next thing I knew, Dad was walking up from the yard covered in ash, all of his hair was singed and he was burnt over most of his body. he had been putting what he thought was deisel on the fire, which was actually fuel - and it had exploded. it was such a shock, it was like i didn't really know what to say or do. jayde had ari in her arms and mum told him to get in the shower while i called an ambulance. i've never rung 000 before, so it was pretty nerve wracking. about 10 mins later the ambulance arrived and dad was shaking all over as if he was going into shock. the ambulance officers treated him while we all waited out the front and mum went with him in the ambulance to Nambour hospital. Wade got home a few minutes later and we also headed up there. Thankfully - Dad is ok. He has 2nd degree burns to the right side of his body, and his left foot, but he is back home and he's feeling alright. The bandages have to be changed every day, and there are some massive blisters happening, but fortunately it didn't get his face too much or his back. Although I told him he probably doesn't feel lucky right now, he is INCREDIBLY lucky that he got out of it as well as he did. it could've been so much worse. i can't imagine what it's like for people to lose a loved one in an instant. it was traumatic enough as it was. life is just so precious.

anyway, we are all home now (except for wade until wed) and the weekend is over already! monday tomorrow - a new start to the working week. i'm definately going to be focusing more on the visual art side of things this week - all of my jewellery stuff has been my priority lately and i'm absolutely snowed under with jewellery bits and bobs. i really need to walk away from it for a couple of days and focus on the painting side of things.

now what should i have for dinner tonight.....? there's still some of that passionfruit cheesecake in the fridge...

  • 3:57 PM

well lis has just left after staying for a couple of nights over the weekend. it was nice to have her here again - catching up on goss, eating, cooking, chilling out etc...but now i'm spending the afternoon catching up on some much needed work from the weekend. it was worth not doing any work over the weekend though. saturday lis came over and we relaxed during the day, and at night we went to "Drag Bingo" which was hilarious! It was exactly how it sounds - b-i-n-g-o but with drag queens! wade, jayde, ari, lis and i all went and it was pretty funny. i must admit it was a bit of a rip off - at $15 each to get in - but i guess it was worth a look (even if it did take 40 mins to drive there!). on the way home we ate mcdonalds and laughed our heads off in the car because i kept thinking i was seeing ducks on the road and i spilled my iced-coffee twice! btw - mcdonalds are doing awesome iced-coffees at the moment (and i never even drink iced-coffee!!)
sunday - we woke up very early (7am is early on a sunday!) and went to the Caboolture markets. I bought - a cute new (but vintage looking) dress for ari, some fruit & vegies, and a vintage alice in wonderland book. Wade bought a body-board and some lollies, and lis bought some really cool 'marilyn monroe' tiled wall hooks. then we went food shopping and for a walk around the plaza...then we came home, lis made the best cob EVER, and we ate it while watching the movie "sex drive" - however aunty lorry and uncle brian came over with locky, gena and connor so we ended up turning it off and talking to them. then wade made and awesome curry for dinner and jayde made more chocolate spiders, and we ended the night by watching the premieres of "the biggest loser" and "so you think you can dance"...both of which i'm very excited about watching this season!
all in all it was a great weekend really...
now it's time to do some work.
ciao. x

Jan. 29th, 2009

  • 2:20 PM

So today I awoke quite early to catch my friend Tab (Tabitha) for a coffee in Beerwah before she went to work. She got to see Ari and we got to catch up on stuff so that was really nice. I might even be seeing her again on Saturday when Lis comes to stay!

I made some 'Chocolate Spiders' yesterday for the 1st time. I remember eating them as a kid (at friend's places), but I hadn't really had them for ages, until Australia Day when Tracey made them. I've realised how easy they are to make now. You just use Chang's Chinese Noodles, Crunchy Peanut Butter & Milk Cooking Chocolate. YUM!

Wade & I are thinking of buying a video camera soon. I think it's important to capture all those special moments while Ari is young. I always wished that my parents had a video camera when I was little. We've seen a couple of really cheap deals, but we've decided to hold out and buy a really good quality one so that it doesn't break, and we can gets lots of use out of it and really high quality video. Plus, Wade's always interested in making films so he'll be able to do that as well.

I'm going to get some painting done this afternoon...while Ari's having a little snooze. It's so HOT again today!

G'day!

We're at Leny & Tracey's at the moment in Nobby! We stayed the night last night, we've just had a cooked breakfast and today we're heading to "Rudd's Pub" for an Australia Day Lunch with the family. We'll be heading back home this afternoon - it will take about 3 hours. Lucky we have lots of Minties for the car trip!

Enjoy your day everyone!

Hi!
It's Saturday today and it's fairly overcast outside. So while we hang around and watch movies etc, I've decided to post a couple of my new items on eBay. The first is a stunning "Gold Anchor" necklace which is at a fixed price of $12. You can go to the listing by clicking
HERE or on the photo below:

The other is a ONE-OF-A-KIND piece from my 'Alice in Wonderland' collection, you can go to the listing by
clicking HERE or on the photo below:

I think we might be going to Warwick tomorrow to celebrate 'Australia Day' on Monday. It would be nice to see Gran and Grandad and everyone down there. It's been quite a busy week this week work wise! Which is fantastic. Stay on the lookout for more jewels added to my store all the time.

I'm hungry...I think I might go make some lunch.
Much Love,
Jaz.

  • 11:54 AM

Goodmorning! (Just...it's 11:55am!)...

A bit of a late start today - Ari woke @ 6am for a feed and then went back to sleep until 11am! I had to wake her up!

So I just thought I'd write a quick update while I'm having a cup of tea & toast, before getting my orders organised for the day.

Lisa's Non-Hen's Night went well! We had a really  nice time - all the girls together. It was a good chance to catch up over a glass (or two! or three! ) of bubbly and talk the night away. We ended up driving home around 2am!

I've been scavenging around for LOTS of awesome bits and pieces that I can use in my jewels lately. I've found some great stuff and I'll be posting pics of whatever I decide to make with them. They'll all be up for purchase in
my eBay Store as well.

I also have a new "Purple Angel" painting (the ORIGINAL) up in
my eBay Store. Starting at $35. You can go to the auction by clicking HERE or on the photo below.

I better go get some work done now.
Love to you all. Hope you're having a FABULOUS week!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

  • Jan. 14th, 2009 at 11:10 AM

Happy New Year!

We had a great time in Sydney for Ariella's 1st Xmas and New Year! We got to catch up with all of Wade's family down there and they got to meet Ariella. She got SO spoilt! Lots of beautiful presents. We had a quiet New Years Eve - we had a yummy dinner (Chilli, Cashew & Parmesan Spaghetti with Prawns - Wade's new fave), and then we watched the Sydney Harbour broadcast on TV until midnight. Ariella even stayed awake to see the New Year in!

This year is going to be an exciting one for my art and jewellery. I've already started working on some new products, and there is going to be a lot more in
my eBay store. The introduction of Sterling Silver Pandora Style beads has been a hit. I've got some gorgeous beads, and I want to put them all on my bracelet! hahaha...

This weekend we're having a "We Love Lisa" party for my beautiful friend Lisa. Should be a blast...

Until next time..

i've been busy busy busy with xmas orders and the like! which is great of course - but also tiring amongst everything else.

we fly out to sydney tomorrow, and I still haven't packed anything yet! but there's still a few orders to finalise tonight before we fly out. my eBay store is on "vacation mode" as of tonight - until the 4th of Jan - so basically, everything's still there - it's just on pause for a few days!

just about all of the xmas pressies are wrapped. i finished picking up the last couple of things today. i think i've got maybe 1 or 2 more to wrap and then all done. tonight we're having a special xmas dinner with mum, dad and jayde and swapping presents etc before we leave tomorrow.

i have an original "angel" painting that is finished, but i'm going to wait until we get back to list it - so that's something to look out for early in the new year! =)

i hope everyone has a safe and fabulous christmas and new years! i will speak to you when I get back!

xmas pressies nearly finalised..

  • Dec. 14th, 2008 at 1:16 PM

well...my xmas shopping is nearly all finished. i've still got another pressie to buy for wade, but that's about it.
we bought ari the 2008 holiday barbie - which is BEAUTIFUL! Of course she won't get to play with her yet (or never? - keep her in mint condition!) but it's a nice keepsake for the year she was born.
I spent a couple of hours last night creating a cute charm bracelet for Tara - wade's little cousin. Hope she likes it. It's got lots of pink in it, lots of hearts, and 4 alphabet beads that spell 'T-A-R-A'. that's about the only hand-made pressie i've created this year.
i'm looking forward now to wrapping everything up! I LOVE wrapping pressies. I think I'll volunteer to do it  for charity one of these years.

we watched "the notorious bettie page" last night - a documentary on the life of bettie page (R.I.P. Dec 2008) - wade mentioned that she passed away a couple of days ago, and I remembered that we had that movie which we hadn't watched - so we put it on and it was and really quite interesting! she was a beautiful woman - albeit a little provocative!

today we're just chilling out. i'm tired cause ari was awake every 3 hrs or so last night. i might try and get some painting done though. it's SOOO hot here.

love 2 u all..

Dec. 11th, 2008

  • 2:52 PM

hello!

sorry i haven't posted an entry here for nearly 2 weeks! orders have been coming in thick and fast in the lead up to xmas - which is fabulous of course - but with Ariella this year also - it's a busy time!

'twilight' the movie comes out today! i'd love to go see it tonight - but alas - i have to wait until tuesday. mum has offered to mind ari so we can go see it which is great! I can't wait!

at the moment i have a new bracelet up in
my eBay store, which is a replica (if you like) of Bella's bracelet (which is introduced in Book 3 of the Twilight Saga - "Eclipse).

You can view the bracelet
HERE or by clicking on the photo below.

Also another exciting venture at the moment is the introduction of my new PANDORA style beads! They are all sterling silver (925) and they are fabulous! Wade bought me a Pandora bracelet after I had Ariella and I absolutely LOVE it. It's such a special thing to have. You can add beads to it which represent different things in your life, or simply because you love them. For instance, I have a gorgeous silver and gold baby bootie as one of my beads (with a little pink stone in a flower on it!) to represent Ari being born. So far I have a couple of intial listings up in my eBay store...
you can view them HERE. I'm actually finding it a little hard to order these beautiful beads because I want to keep them all!!

Lis dropped by for a few days this week, which was nice. We didn't do a whole lot, just pottered about, fed the ducks (lol), that kind of thing...but it was nice.

I can't believe it's only 2 weeks till Christmas! That's crazy! I still have to do some Xmas shopping. I've started it at least...

Hope you are all enjoying this festive season...

Jaz x
